Pets
— None, but does have several otter friends that he swims with when he has free time, which is very often.
History
— Oberon doesn't remember his childhood. He remembers waking up on a riverbank, and gazing out into the clear waters. He wasn't injured, nor was he confused; but, Oberon had no clue who he was, where he'd come from, or even what his name might be. He hid in the water when anyone would come around, though he also followed people when they didn't notice him. He stole his name from three different interesting people he had encountered during his first few months of "life." He had very little communication with those people, but found that he did have the capacity to speak well. He figured things out fast, and soon discovered that he knew much about the world, and things going on around him. He was highly intelligent about many things, except his own life. This confusion haunts him to this day, even though you'd never know it by looking at the shapeshifter.
He loves life, and takes the form of two very happy creatures when not in a physical humanoid form. Oberon spends much time as an otter as he swims, dances, and enjoys time with other otters in his lake side homeland. He enjoys the company of his otter friends more than that of actual people. He has never met another person like him, and often wonders if he is the only one that exists. The other form he take is that of a seagull. He travels great distances as this seafaring bird, but always returns to his lake friends within two or three days time away. He makes a habit of sitting in trees, or on a beach while he watches others and learns as much as he can about those that inhabit the world he has found himself a part of the living. He is a dreamer, and enjoys talking to his select few friends when he has the time -meaning when he is not in otter form and playing with his crude "family" in the clear waters of his home lake.
Recently, while in seagull form, Oberon came across a castle with a large beam of light. This made the young man, by his race's standards, curious. He has since remained in bird form to watch and see if he can learn anything from the castle, or those in the surrounding area. He has a dreadful feeling he cannot explain, and it isn't something he is very comfortable feeling. He has no idea what might be happening, much like he doesn't know a thing about his own past; but, he is going to remain watching and learning to see if it is something he can help with in the long run.

Jordan had slept in, deciding that he had needed the extra rest. Lately, classes had completely drained him of energy, and he felt like he deserved a nap anyways. Finally getting up just before noon, he yawned and stretched, looking out the window beside his four-poster bed. The sun was right in the middle of the glowing horizon, and he knew instinctively that it wouldn't last. The claws of winter would soon grip the earth in its chilly embrace. Much as it had a habit of doing, fall was starting to turn cold even if the sun was trying to force his light down on mankind.
He got dressed, throwing on a pair of old jeans and the first t-shirt he could find, as well as grabbing his wand, before descending down the spiral stairs into the Common Room. He stayed in the Common Room for a few minutes, catching up with a few of his friends before nearly shouting the password because the guardian didn't hear him the second time. Muttering under his breath as he strode out, he began walking towards the Great Hall. He was quite hungry, and figured that he might as well grab some pancakes or something to fill him up. Maybe the food would provide him some much needed energy as his stomach began to growl under his shirt. He grinned absently.
Going down a few sets of stairs, he watched the portraits framing the stone walls beside him say and do various things. Jordan had always found the portraits to be very entertaining, and kind of served as a distraction as you made your way to wherever you were going. After all, everyone needed a good distraction nowadays. With the news of Halloween pressing in from all corners of the castle, everyone seemed to be in a dismal mood. He tried to pull the images out of his mind, but it was difficult. Several wizards in an old frame watched him pass. "Eyes up young man, or you'll catch your death from a fall." Jordy nodded toward the painting and continued on his way. He probably would've fallen on the stairs had the kindly man not said something. He was tired of the horrors of Halloween drifting into his waves of thought. It was becoming a burden he didn't need to bare.
Jordan tried not to think about it much, even though the stories were horrific coming from the rumors he heard not only in the common area, but from the mouths of almost everyone who waited outside of classes these days. He was never one to gossip even when the information was something he might find some interest within the words. Yet, it was hard to avoid what the others were talking about when he passed them in the hall. It seemed that even the most happiest of moments had a dark cloud drifting over it. Many people even mentioned leaving the school, this was absurd considering Hogwart's was one of -if not the- safest places in the known world. He knew he wouldn't leave the comfort of the castle walls, even if they weren't all too comforting these days. Even the library had a dull layer of impending doom shrouding the stacks of books. He had to shake his head and get his mind off these things. This way of thinking could drive a man mad.
Finally descending the final stairway, he absentmindedly began to hum as he dodged a suit of armor that had lunged at him, and pushed open the smaller wooden door that connected the second floor to the Entrance Hall. Noticing that the hall wasn't very full, he moved to the Ravenclaw table and sat down. There were no pancakes in sight, so he settled for a deep red soup, and some sandwich bread. He dipped the bread into the warm liquid and found it to be nothing more than creamy tomato. It would be warm in his stomach, and he soon lost himself in eating. The longer he sat there the less he thought of the past events and let his mind wander on to other topics of thought.
Soon it would snow, and Jordy was not un-fond of the weather change. He had always liked the snow, and the silence it made when it blanketed the earth. It made for a good time to go outdoor and read in the frosty air. It was one of the things he looked forward to besides the first years always daring each other to wander out on the frozen lake to see who could get the furthest. Jordan never did this himself, when he was young he spent more time inside than out. He was enchanted by the castle with all its twists, turns, and hidden rooms. It was almost as if the whole of the school was a living, breathing thing. In a way, Jordan thought this was correct. He often considered writing a paper about the subject, or maybe even stretching it into a short novel. He figured he might find some joy in doing this project, but each time he put the quill to paper he hesitated. He didn't feel right writing about something so frivolous during the recent horrors the wizarding world had endured.
He mentally sighed knowing he had come full circle back to the original thoughts that brought his brows together above his light blue eyes. So much for trying to keep his thoughts off of the rumors and news that had poured through the school since Halloween. Everything seemed different, and there was a new found clutch of fear that accompanied everyone moving around the Hall. Why did it have to be like this? Wasn't the world intelligent enough to know that nothing could come from war but pain and suffering? This was exactly what those who caused the crime wanted.
He pushed the bowl away and sat down the unfinished bread. He couldn't eat anymore as he thought of the people who would never eat again. Jordan had never been an overly emotional child, but he couldn't help but worry about his own family and what could happen to them if things continued in the way they were. It was sad to think of those that lost a loved one to such a senseless thing. He was lucky he hadn't gone. Jordan hadn't had a date so he remained behind and alone in the Ravenclaw tower as he read his books. He didn't have a clue what had been happening until others started to pour into the room with word of the event.
Some of those rumors had been ridiculous. The Headmaster had caused a fire, one kid proclaimed before another rapped him on the back of the head. Jordan, who was a prefect, had to stand up and settle down the younger students. Soon enough, someone finally showed up to let them know that they were to remain in the common room until further notice. This had all been about a month ago. Classes went on as usual, and time drifted past them. He still heard rumors coming from the corners of classrooms, and the gossip was getting worse and worse. This was what happened when no real news was offered. He knew the only way to quiet down the building panic was to learn the truth of what had happened. How could he go about doing this? It was a task no Hogwart's student would be able to do at this time.
The best Jordy could hope for was a quiet day as he continued to try to keep his mind off the events. There were a few things to look forward to. He was asked to remain at the school during the holidays for the first time since he became a student. That, at least, would give him some time to investigate some more around the tall walls. Or, maybe he'd have time to read more of the detective novels he enjoyed in his spare time? At least it was something, he didn't know what else he could possibly have to look forward to. He absently munched on his bread having found that his hunger wouldn't die so easily.
