luka breathed a sigh of air as he settled his back against the trunk of a rather large tree. he assumed that it wasn't an uncommon thing for people to do - sitting against trees. well, at least not uncommon at ground level. sitting in a branch thirty feet in the air as he was, he probably wouldn't fit into that particular statistic. several crows were perched in the branches around him, their silent company breaching whatever loneliness he might have felt had they not been there with him. ever since befriending them, the world did feel so much more empty when they weren't around.
needless to say, it hand't been hard for luka to get into the tree. it was rather impossible to climb, with no sturdy branches really anywhere near the ground to grasp hold of, and rather precarious looking as the tree was long dead. it was a wonder as to why it was still standing and even more of a wonder as to why his crows called this tree home, but that was how it was and he wasn't going to question it.
for luka, the blessing of an avian shift coudln't have come in more handy as it did whenever he decided to pay the crows a visit. and, even though they should fear him, the crows had eventually accepted that despite the fact he was one of their predators, he wasn't actually going to attack them or thier young. however, instinct was a rather stubborn bitch to battle and luka knew that his presence as an eagle so close to thier nests unsettled the crows. they would become fidgety, refusing to stay perched on one branch in the same position for more then a few moments. they wouldn't keep their eyes off of him should he make any dangerous movements. it was a little maddening for as much as it annoyed him, so he made it easier for all of them and shifted back.
still, it was quite the site - a man sitting at impossible heights counting the seconds with a small murder of crows.
